Amber loves the outdoors

Amber, born in 1995, is a fun, energetic girl who enjoys playing games and playing outside. She is a happy, fun-loving child who wants very much to be a part of a family.

She enjoys playing games – UNO and Connect Four are two of her favorites – and she has gotten quite good at both. Amber also enjoys being outside riding horses, swimming and playing soccer. She likes to ride her bike as well.

Amber is helpful around the house. She makes her bed “almost every morning” and will help out with other household chores when asked. She enjoys spending time with her foster mother and has developed a close relationship with her.

In school, Amber receives special education services to help her complete her work and remain on task. Her favorite subjects in school are math, social studies and science.

Amber wants a family to know that she is a happy person who wants to be in a family very much. She would like a pet to help take care of.

Amber also would like to have a sister. She would like a family that would be willing to take her to “fun places” such as amusement parks, the zoo and on vacations.

An adoption subsidy may be available through the state Department of Health and Human Services.

Amber is one of the 153 children in DHHS care, who is seeking an adoptive family.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
