Brian loves pets, walks, attention

Brian, born in 1993, is a loving, caring and nurturing child who thrives on one-to-one attention. He enjoys activities such as Legos, loves animals and likes to spend time outdoors walking and exploring. He is very inquisitive and curious and will ask people lots of questions.

Brian is eager to enter high school in the fall. He receives special education services for academic and emotional issues and is working on age-appropriate peer interactions. Brian has done a wonderful job of accepting the teacher’s directions this past school year.

Brian is excited about being adopted and being in a home where he won’t have to move again. He would love an adoptive family that will spend lots of time with him and that is active. He would love to be in a home where he has pets. He would do best in a home where there are not a lot of other children so Brian can get the time and attention he craves. He has contact with an aunt and his sister, which is important to him. An adoptive family should be willing to work with ongoing support services in the future.

Brian would do well in a single-parent or two-parent home that has a good support system and can provide him with love, structure, consistency and one-on-one time. Brian needs a family that will remain invested in helping him attach to their home and allow him time to continue the progress he has started.

An adoption subsidy is available for the most appropriate family. Brian is one of the 147 children now in Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ care who are seeking adoptive families.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
