Currently chairman of the Joint Standing Committees on Marine Resources and Transportation. Previously chaired Joint Select Committees on Regionalization and Community Cooperation, Property Tax Reform, Maine’s Future Prosperity.

Reason for running: In addition to supporting values that I think are absolutely essential to Maine, such as maintaining and protecting our environment, fostering an education system that will equip us for the future, and providing a health care system that includes all Mainers, I am running because I understand the need and the importance to define and provide the course for Maine’s future economy.

I currently own and operate Storage Plus in Ellsworth.

Reason for running: Maine has an incredible quality of life. The opportunities for ourselves, our children and grandchildren are being eroded by an … intrusive state government. The burdensome tax system and the punitive relationship between the state and the bill payers must be changed. We have the ability to attract good jobs. … Reducing taxes and developing an environment where small business can grow is key to our state.
