ROCKLAND – The group “A Turning Night of Stars” will return to the Rockland Library to perform the spoken poetry of the 13th century Sufi mystic Jelaluddin Rumi with musical accompaniment at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Friends Community Room. The group’s live CD “A Constant Conversation” will be available for purchase along with several books of Rumi’s poetry.
“A Turning Night of Stars” consists of Maine residents Lock Kiermaier on spoken vocals, Tom Jamrog on mandolin and accordion, Hank on dumbeck, Dave Kirkham on stand-up bass and Jack Silverio on guitar.
This performance is one in a continuing Thursday series of literary, film and cultural offerings sponsored by the Rockland Public Library and The Friends of the Rockland Public Library.
