Wiscasset payouts big for Fall Brawl Weekend

WISCASSET – The Pro All-Stars Series’ Super Late Model Northern Division and Modified points championships will be decided today at Wiscasset Raceway in the Fall Brawl Weekend.

There will also be racing Sunday, with hefty paydays, at Wiscasset for the weekly racers.

The 150-lap PASS North race will have Turner’s Ben Rowe, Hallowell’s Johnny Clark and Morrill’s Travis Benjamin vying for the crown. Complicating the issue is the fact the drivers are able to drop their two worst finishes among the 14 races.

If you eliminate their two worst finishes thus far, Rowe holds a three-point lead over Clark and a 23-point edge on Benjamin.

In the 40-lap Modified race, Andy Shaw of Center Conway, N.H., has a one-point lead over Harpswell’s Mark Lucas and a three-point edge over Tom Oliver of Windham.

Racing begins Saturday at 4 p.m.

On Sunday, racing will kick off at 2 p.m. There will be a 100-lap Super Street/Sportsman National feature which will pay the winner $10,000; a 100-lap Street Stock National that will put $3,000 in the winner’s pocket; a 50-lap Real Stock/Mini Stock National which will pay the winner $1,000 and a 50-lap Mini-Truck race worth $500 to the victor.

Also Sunday, the New England Fall Shoot-out will be held at the Thundering Valley Raceway kart track in St. Albans beginning at 12:30 p.m. There will be extra laps run in the features as points championships are up for grabs.
