West Point graduate

VERONA ISLAND – Cadet James Russell Booth, son of James and Patricia Booth of Verona Island, and a 2002 graduate of Bucksport High School, graduated with honors from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., during ceremonies held May 31. He ranked in the top 10 percent of his graduating class.

While at West Point, Booth concentrated on law and legal studies. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Booth will undergo Airborne-Ranger School training at Fort Benning, Ga., assigned to the infantry. After his training, he will be assigned to Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

Basic training

BRADFORD – Air National Guard Airman Ashley Bubar graduated from basic military training as an element leader of the 320th Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Bubar is a 2004 graduate of Central High School in Corinth, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Rod and Amy Bubar of Bradford.

ARGYLE – Air National Guard Airman Brandon Deans recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

He is a 2006 graduate of Old Town High School and is the son of Randy and Kathy Deans of Argyle Township.

BANGOR – Air Force Airman Jamie L. Petrello, daughter of Theresa Petrello of Manchester, N.H., and granddaughter of Lori Newcomb of Bangor, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

She is a 2007 graduate of Central High School, Manchester.
