Seekins holds off Parritt for ’95’ win

HERMON – Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs held off Brenton Parritt of Steuben to win the Dysart’s Pro Limited feature in auto racing action at Speedway 95 Sunday.

Parritt took second, Bernie Thayer of Hermon third, Glen Curtis of Hudson fourth and Ray Allen Morse of St. Albans fifth.

Winterport Dragway

At Winterport, Rick Wiseman of Blue Hill earned two victories in Sunday’s drag racing action, winning the Super Pro/Pro Final and the Pro Eliminator division.

In the Super Pro/Pro, Wiseman defeated Craig Cousins of Hermon. Wiseman took the Pro Eliminator by outracing Cici Eberle of Searsport and semifinalist Galen Alley of Beals.

At Oxford, Travis Adams of Canton cruised to an easy victory in the 40-lap Late Model feature at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Carey Martin of Denmark was second, Jimmy Childs of Leeds third, Dane Verrill of Paris fourth and Tommy Ricker of Poland fifth.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset, Sidney’s Chris Thorne and Boothbay’s Steve Reny swapped the lead back and forth over the final 15 laps before Thorne took the checkered flag in the Bruce Kane Memorial Late Model race for the second straight year at Wiscasset Raceway Saturday.

Reny was second in the 30-lap race with Albany Township’s Ricky Rolfe finishing third, Appleton’s Daren Ripley coming home fourth and Woolwich’s Adam Chadbourne winding up fifth in the 23-car field.

The race honors the memory of Bruce Kane, who died in a racing accident at Wiscasset in the early 1990s.
