Valley to play Forest Hills, Rangeley vs. Richmond in semis

AUGUSTA – The seeds held during the quarterfinal round of the Western Maine Class D boys basketball tourney Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center as No. 1 Richmond, No. 2 Valley of Bingham, No. 3 Forest Hills of Jackman and No. 4 Rangeley all posted victories.

The winners advanced to Wednesday’s semifinal round where Valley will battle Forest Hills at 10 a.m., followed by Rangeley vs. Richmond at 11:30 a.m.

Forest Hills 45, Elan 42

Cody Gilboe scored a game-high 20 points to propel No. 3 Forest Hills by No. 6 Elan.

Jeffrey Mulhall chipped in with 10 points for the Tigers.

Malcolm Tuner paced Elan with 19 points while Lee Gach added 14.
