Stearns rallies by Pats

BANGOR – The Stearns Minutemen overcame a slow start Wednesday night and outscored Bangor Christian 17-2 in the third period, then went on to eke out a 53-47 overtime girls basketball victory over the Patriots at Husson College.

April Davis paced a balanced attack for Stearns of Millinocket with 16 points, while Adriana Eurich scored 12 and Kirsten Marter 10.

Katherine Bragg paced Bangor Christian with 14 points. Hope Johnson and Katie Libby netted 12 points each.

At Searsport, Sarah Atwater hit a free throw with 49 seconds remaining in overtime to give Dexter the 35-34 lead and eventual win over Searsport.

Searsport’s Emma Clark sunk a field goal with nine seconds left in regulation to tie it at 32-32 and force overtime.

Miranda Gove paced Dexter with 12 points.

Clark scored eight points to lead Searsport.

At Sukee Arena, Winslow, Dylan Fitzpatrick scored four goals and assisted two others to lift Brewer over Messalonskee of Oakland.

Tyler Coombs and Nick Risser each had a goal and an assist for the 7-1 Witches. Mike Kotredes, Andy Bush and Steven Farley scored a goal and Ryan Nadeau provided three assists. Eric White turned away 17 of 20 shots.

Matt DelGuidice, Mike LaBrie and Nick DeBlois scored for 3-5 Messalonskee. Cam Berard had two assists. Zach Parent and Cody Ziegenfus combined for 43 saves on 52 shots.

Bangor 7, Skowhegan 1

At Sukee Arena, Winslow, Joey Seccareccia scored two goals and assisted another to lead Bangor past Skowhegan.

David Pardilla also scored two goals for the 4-5 Rams and Nate Lewis had a goal and three assists. Phil Frost had a goal and an assist and Josh Kelley scored. Andrew Riley stopped 16 of 17 shots.

Justin Enman scored off of a Bret Savage assist in the first period for 1-6 Skowhegan. Jimmy Quirion made 20 saves on 27 shots.

John Bapst 7, Win-Dale 3

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Casey Hull scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Crusaders past Winthrop/Hall-Dale.

Connor Scofield also tallied twice for 6-2 John Bapst of Bangor, and Ryan Hayes, Ethan Sale and Nick Mitchell scored once each. Chase Huckestein posted three assists and Chris Dunbar and Travis Poulin had one apiece. Nate Kuneman made 15 saves on 18 shots.

Mike Fleischman earned a hat trick by scoring all three goals for 2-4 Win-Dale, while Dave Ricker assisted on two of them and Dan Garland and Jake Levesque had one assist each. Cody Patterson made 25 saves on 32 shots.

Lawrence 6, Hampden 3

At T.J. Ryan Center, Brewer, Jack Hersom, Cody Noonan and Devon Belanger scored two goals apiece to lead Lawrence of Fairfield past Hampden Academy.

Sam Miller, Josh Dearborn and James Banks provided two assists apiece for the 5-3-1 Bulldogs. Dillon Bellefleur blocked 23 of 26 shots.

Josh Tardiff, Ethan Chase and Cody McAllister scored for 3-5 Hampden. Matt Albert made 28 saves on 34 shots.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Ian Champeon scored 16 points and led Foxcroft Academy past Penquis of Milo.

Josiah Richard, Shane Adkins and Jason Gould each scored 10 points for the Ponies and Jamie Nason provided nine assists.

Cody Andrews had 19 points for Penquis.
