Please reconsider using photographs such as the one of Victoria Lee Fuller that appeared with the story “A passion for fashion” (BDN, March 29). To hold up such an obviously unhealthy young woman as a “gold standard” of fashion is irresponsible, and perpetuates an ideal that many young women die trying to achieve.
Ms. Fuller appears neither healthy nor attractive, and she should not be presented as an illustration of desirability. I would certainly not want my daughters subjected to it.
I am asking you, BDN, in the interest of young women everywhere, please don’t support this ghastly standard of “beauty.” The photograph is not sexy, it’s tragic.
