FORT KENT – Two staff members of the Genesis Fund are working with the town to explore the possibility of converting a manufactured housing park from a privately owned property to a resident-owned cooperative.
The staffers, Beth McPherson and Liza Fleming-Ives, completed training at the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s Meredith Institute in early November.
The Genesis Fund is a community loan fund serving all of Maine. Its mission is to help Maine groups that are working to create affordable housing and other economic and social opportunities by offering innovative financing, expert assistance and help in leveraging other sources of funding.
