Eagles win 7th straight LCS/MSSM boys knock off Tigers

LIMESTONE – Three players scored in double figures as Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics won its seventh straight game, 49-41 over Fort Fairfield in high school boys basketball action Tuesday.

Steve Giangiordano, Danny Hayes and Chris Kirchner netted 12 points apiece for the Eagles.

Doug Sharpe paced Fort Fairfield with 13 points while Austin Dufour added 11.

Robert Toothaker netted 18 points and Dakota Sleeper added 12 for the Warriors.

Tyler Cote paced Ashland with 15 points and Jeremy Tarr added 14.

At Millar Civic Center, Houlton, Brandon Daigle scored four goals and assisted another to lead Presque Isle to victory over Stearns of Millinocket.

Ben McPherson had one goal and two assists for the 5-4-1 Wildcats and Mitchell Davis chipped in a goal. Greg Cyr assisted two goals and Jason Martin recorded an assist. Ethan Hill stopped 17 of 18 shots.

Nate Cyr scored off of a Luke Stahl assist in the second period for the 2-6 Minutemen. Paul Rucci made 36 saves on 42 shots.

At Easton Monday, Sarah Long poured in 23 points to power the Panthers of Mars Hill past the Bears.

Amber Bradley chipped in with 13 for Central Aroostook.

Kassie Lovely paced Easton with 18 points and Kendra Conroy added 12.
