Although I have voted for Sen. Olympia Snowe for as long as I can remember, I will not be voting for her this time, or ever again. Along with most of the rest of her Republican colleagues in Congress, she has failed to exercise her congressional duty to act as a check and balance to the immoral, illegal and inept policies of George Bush.

Except for a few well-timed and well-publicized, but largely meaningless, challenges that cost her little in the way of courage and integrity, Snowe has pretty much kept her head down – as the current administration has gone about its task of dismantling the safeties and freedoms of this country.

George Bush could do a lot more damage in the two years he has left. We need to elect someone who will speak out against his outrages, before he takes the country and-or the world beyond the point of no return.
