CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy will hold its annual Celebration of Achievement banquet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Harold Alfond Student Center. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. at the President’s House.

Eleven students will be presented with the Henry A. Scheel award in recognition of academic excellence. Three graduates will be inducted to the alumni Wall of Honor.

David G. Skaves, professor of engineering, will be named as recipient of the first Excellence in Teaching award.

The college also will honor Joceline Boucher, professor of marine chemistry, for her contributions to the coordination of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges 2006 Self Study process.
