News in brief GREENVILLE: NEW POLICE OFFICER

Scott MacMaster, 32, formerly of the Gardiner Police Department, has accepted a full-time position with the Greenville Police Department. MacMaster said Thursday that he was looking for a new challenge after serving about 12 years with the Gardiner Police Department. Greenville Town Manager John Simko said town officials are pleased that MacMaster accepted the position and has moved his family to the town. MacMaster will be the acting sergeant in the department. Cpl. Charlie Runnels of Abbot, who resigned from the full-time position to have more free time, was hired to fill a part-time position.
