Thanks for your story headlined, “Seoul tells Rice it will keep economic ties to North [Korea]” (BDN, Oct. 20).
It was heartening to read that President Roh supports the rights of South Koreans to visit North Korea, viewing the beauty of that land and spending money there as they wish – all in spite of Secretary Condoleezza Rice’s objection.
We have spent far too much time on an unneeded war on Iraq – still not won after all these years, driving us deeper and deeper into enormous debt, and increasingly alienating us form most people and most governments throughout the world.
Much is to be learned from President Roh’s reported words:
“Without firing a single bullet, we have improved our relations in a historic leap.”
