It figures that Mary Adams, as the instigator of TABOR, would like to get rid of all opposition to the referendum. She was quoted as saying: “As far as I’m concerned we can sweep them right out of the state.”
A few of the letters-to-the-editor have questioned why people who oppose TABOR are afraid of majority rule. Well, I am opposed to TABOR and the one thing that makes it unacceptable to me is that it will let the majority rule. One-third of any group voting can stop the other two-thirds from passing a budget.
Why? Because the people who wrote this nonsense can’t convince a simple majority that their ideas on funding our towns and schools are the correct way. Adams’ statement about the opposition makes that very clear.
Well, I am staying right here and will fight this bad idea to the end.
