ACADIA NATIONAL PARK – A Lamoine man was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges after he was stopped for speeding on Schooner Head Road, a park ranger said Wednesday.
Anthony Eaton, 24, was driving a 1998 Toyota around noon when rangers clocked him driving 10 mph faster than the posted 35 mph speed limit, according to Ranger Chuck Lochart.
Eaton, who had bail conditions allowing police to conduct searches of him, was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles, three prescription drugs, a small amount of cocaine and 19 grams of marijuana, Lochart said. Besides drug possession charges, Eaton also has been charged with speeding and with operating a motor vehicle after suspension, the ranger said.
The Lamoine man was taken to Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth, where he was released later Tuesday on personal recognizance bail, according to Lochart.
