News in brief BANGOR: SEBEC LAKE WEATHER OBSERVER TO BE RECOGNIZED

William Larrabee of the Sebec Lake Weather Station will be recognized Thursday for his 46 years of service as a volunteer observer with the National Weather Service. Larrabee is one of six recipients in the country to receive the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s prestigious Thomas Jefferson Award for outstanding service in the Cooperative Weather Observer program in 2006. Hendricus Lulofs, meteorologist-in-charge of the Caribou weather forecast office, will present Larrabee the award at a ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bangor City Hall.
