The Maine courts will hold fall administrative week from Monday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 3.
Clerks offices in the state’s District and Superior courts will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The offices normally are open 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
The temporary hours allow court personnel to catch up on paperwork without interruption, according to a press release from the Administrative Office of the Courts in Portland.
A similar administrative week will be held next spring.
Judges also will have an opportunity to catch up on research and writing because only emergency matters will be heard in courtrooms around the state.
Clerks offices and courts will resume normal business hours on Monday, Nov. 6.
