News in brief DOVER-FOXCROFT: STOLEN PRESCRIPTION PADS

A Bingham man has been charged for trying to acquire a scheduled drug with prescription pads stolen from the Bingham Health Center. William Bowring, 23, will make his initial court appearance on the charge on Nov. 27, in 13th District Court in Dover-Foxcroft. Bowring allegedly gave two scripts made out for a generic pain reliever to a local pharmacist, Police Chief Dennis Dyer said on Thursday. The pharmacist thought the scripts were suspicious so a call was placed to the Bingham Health Center. After being told that the scripts were from a prescription pad that had been stolen from the health center, the pharmacist called the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department. Bowring may face additional charges as Somerset County police conduct an investigation into the theft of the prescription pad.
