President Bush was asked to explain the significant increase in violence in Iraq at his Oct. 11 press conference. He replies that it was due in part to and increased effort to engage the enemy by our forces. I suppose he meant that if we fight more, more casualties can be expected.
However, I should hope that any increase in our efforts to prevent violence would not increase it.
Is this too great a mental hurdle to clear?
