Maine needs TABOR. We have an opportunity to send a strong message this November. We trusted the Legislature to fix our tax burden. We got LD 1.
We were promised that property taxes would go down 15 percent. How did that work out for you? At the eleventh hour, new promises are being made. Should we trust them this time?
I won’t be fooled again. All the opposition to TABOR is coming from the big-spending special interests, Maine Education Association, Maine Municipal Association, Maine State Employees Association and Maine Equal Justice, to name a few. These are groups with one arm around the Augusta politicians, and the other reaching for your wallet.
TABOR is a reasonable measure that will ensure fiscal discipline for governments at all levels. TABOR is a measure supported by and funded from the citizens of Maine who want real change and lower taxes.
I plan to vote yes on Question 1, and for Chandler Woodcock, the only candidate for governor who supports TABOR.
