Clark, Rowe in PASS title showdown

Championships will be decided in six Pro All-Stars Series divisions this weekend at Unity Raceway as the final weekend of racing is held.

The PASS North Division Super Late Models is down to a two-man race between Johnny Clark of Farmingdale and Mike Rowe of Turner. Clark holds an eight-point lead.

In the Mod Division, Brunswick’s Chris Staples leads Searsmont’s Jason Taylor and Bridgton’s Troy Morse by 39 points.

In the Outlaws Division, 15-year-old Derek Ramstrom of West Boylston, Mass., just needs to start the race to claim the Overall points championship and he could add Northern and Central Division crowns to his resume.

In Overall points, he leads Lewiston’s Mike Thomas by 146 points and Skowhegan’s Mike Harnish Jr. by 168.

Albion’s Matt Lee leads Ramstrom by 14 points in the Northern Divisjon points and Jimmy Renfrew leads Ramstrom by eight in the Central Division chase.

“It’s going to be a real good way to finish the season,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry.

There will also be a PASS Super Stock/Sport/Limited Challenge Series champion crowned. The three-race series features a battle of cousins as Dan McKeage and Mike Landry each won a previous race.

“They’re within 10 points of each other,” said Mayberry.

There will be several other support division features, too.

Racing begins at 1 p.m. today and Sunday.

The 100-lap Outlaw feature will probably start between 5 and 5:30 p.m. today, Sunday’s 40-lap Mod feature will start at approximately 3:30, and the 150-lap PASS North Super Late Model feature will follow.
