… but it won’t work

I grew up in Maine, graduated from Bangor High School in 1977, return home every summer and still think of it as my home. Currently, I reside in Colorado and have been teaching here for the past eight years.

I must tell you that our experience with TABOR has not been a good one. Its intent was admirable but because of the nature of economic cycles it will do more harm then good. We have seen programs in education cut at all levels and the results of those cuts seriously undermine our children’s educational future and ability to compete in the coming job market.

Tax reform is needed but TABOR will not help the state of Maine achieve the reform that residents seek.
