GRAY – Maine State Police are investigating the theft of seven guns that were taken from an evidence room at the Maine Warden Service building.
Col. Thomas Santaguida, head of the warden service, said somebody pried open the door to the evidence room last month. Nothing else in the building was discovered missing.
Two of the guns were being held as evidence in ongoing cases, while five had been used as evidence in past cases and were slated to be destroyed or auctioned.
