BREWER – Twin City Baptist Church has a new pastor, Virgil E. Phinney Jr., an ordained Baptist minister. He and his wife, Cindy, are longtime residents of the Bangor area and longtime members of Twin City Baptist Church.
Phinney has been interim minister at the church since January and was called by the church to be the permanent minister on Sept. 10.
Phinney was ordained 21 years ago at Bangor Baptist Church and has done pulpit supply and interim pastor work.
But his primary career had been in Christian radio on WHCF Bangor for 21 years, serving as the morning announcer for the last 15 years.
Twin City Baptist Church holds worship services at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sundays at 559 North Main St. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. The church maintains a fully staffed nursery during Sunday services.
A junior church program takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. The Awana program is for preschoolers to sixth-graders at 5:30 p.m. Sundays. Teenagers meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and an adult Bible study and prayer meeting gathers at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
