Missing man’s body found

PRESQUE ISLE – A hunter walking through a wooded area Tuesday afternoon found the body of a local man who was reported missing over the weekend, according to an official from the Presque Isle Police Department.

Dale Saucier, 43, of Presque Isle was reported missing during the weekend by his brother, Detective Bill Scull said Tuesday.

A hunter found Saucier’s body at about 4 p.m. near Wallace Street in Presque Isle and called police. Crown Ambulance and the Police Department went to the scene. Officials identified the man as Saucier, who had been missing since last week.

According to police, Saucier last was seen Friday morning when he was heading to a morning class at Northern Maine Community College. Saucier’s family was concerned about his well-being because he recently had taken a new job but abruptly quit. Scull said police still are trying to determine the timing of Saucier’s disappearance.

Scull said police found no wounds on Saucier. He said police noted nothing suspicious about Saucier’s death.

Saucier’s body was taken to a local funeral home. The state medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Scull said.

Sgt. Laurie Kelly of the Presque Isle department is continuing an investigation into the matter.
