Waterfall Arts offers classes in Belfast

BELFAST – The second session of fall art classes at the Belfast branch of Waterfall Arts will begin the week of Oct. 30.

New classes for adults include “Waiting for Lefty – Film Directing from the Page to the Screen,” with acclaimed actor and director Jonathan Frakes. Beverly Mann will lead a class in mask making and mask theater, and Jeffrey Densmore will teach African drumming.

Other adult classes, appropriate for those age 13 and up, include “Contemporary Acrylic Painting” with Alan Fishman, “Monotypes – a Painterly Approach” with Lois Anne, handmade cards with Gloria Clark, gesture drawing in clay with Randy Fein, a one-day life drawing marathon, and a weekend of polymer clay art for ages 10 and up.

New classes for children and teens include “Drama Exploratory” with Julia Olson, “Photo Based Art Exploration” with Marci Bronstein, painting for 4- to 6-year-olds with Deb Pickering, printmaking with Jessica LeClair, cartooning with Kenny Cole, a painting class for 8- to 12-year-olds called “Paintbrush Rebellion” with Lesia Sochor, and two classes of beginning African-style drumming, one for 10- to 13-year-olds and another class for 13- to 18-year-olds.
