Police arrested a Bangor man Sunday evening at the Ranger Inn on Hammond Street after they witnessed him crush and snort pills in front of his children.
According to police reports, Officers Dan Herrick and James Dearing responded to a call about a family fight. When they arrived, there was no fight. Through the window, they could see Alan Smith, 25, Angela Goss, 42, also of Bangor, another female and two small children.
Smith was going through a box on the dresser. Police reports state Smith removed a pill from the box, crushed it and snorted it in plain view of the two children.
The officers knocked after approximately 10 minutes of observation and were let into the room. They found that Goss had several prescriptions in her purse, with unidentified different pills mixed in.
Police reports state that Smith had snorted Vicodin and was also found to be in possession of heroin. He was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of scheduled drugs and possession of Schedule Z drugs. Goss was summoned for possession of Schedule Z drugs.
A Bangor man was arrested in the JC Penney store at Bangor Mall on Sunday after he was caught shoplifting.
Police responded to a call from store security saying they had a shoplifter in custody. Police reports state that loss prevention officers had watched Jeremy Hunter, 20, enter a fitting room with multiple items to try on and leave with none of the clothing in his hands.
Hunter was found to be wearing multiple layers of clothing. He was arrested for theft and taken to Penobscot County Jail.
According to police reports, it later was found that Hunter was out on bail at the time and previously had been banned from Macy’s for shoplifting. He was charged with theft and violation of bail conditions.
