Regarding the article, “Bangor panel OKs planning funds for redesign” (BDN, Oct. 4):
One million dollars to make over West Market Square, which includes much public money, sounds pretty pricey.
We average about seven months of inclement weather – including rain – not conducive to sitting outside on benches in any park, no matter how lovely the area.
It would be wonderful to see the brick sidewalks downtown repaired. The sidewalk in front of the Hammond Street Senior Center for example. That area is extremely uneven and treacherous to unaware travelers.
