GOP cuts and runs

It is very surprising to note that the GOP came up with a catchy phrase “cut and run,” but regrettably applied it to the wrong situation. Iraq needs a change in policy to conclude the war that should never have been started. Two additional years of “steady at the helm” is heading not only to losing Iraq, because of looming civil war, but to losing Afghanistan as well. “It is the policy that is not working, stupid.”

The Bush team convinced us all, including Congress, with lies, that an attack on Iraq with its WMD would guarantee our safety. But what the Bush team, with GOP support, chose is to cut the truth and run with the lies. A confrontational policy and a belligerent war in Iraq is being waged with a “51 percent mandate” and the “49 percent nonpatriots” who dared question the policy are accused of aiding the enemy. Thus the GOP’s cut and run is still running with no end in sight.

Ultimately the “uniter” has split our nation in half and has lost most of the world support we enjoyed after 9-11. As Bush himself said, he knows little of international politics, but so does his team. President Lincoln was right when he said you cannot fool everybody all the time.

Thank you for nothing, Mr. President, and your cut-and-run party. We should not be treated like fools and for lying to us you and your team deserve to be impeached, just for the sake of showing thattruth can prevail in this country.
