Woman in Presque Isle says man with gun harassed her

PRESQUE ISLE – Police are seeking information on a masked man who brandished a gun at a local woman and made a sexually explicit remark at her early Friday morning.

Detective Bill Scull of the Presque Isle Police Department said Friday that police received a call at 6:20 a.m. from a 26-year-old Presque Isle woman about the incident.

The woman was walking her dog along State Street near the five-way intersection when she heard a car stop on the other side of the road and then heard a man in the car make a sexual remark to her. He essentially told her to pull up her shirt.

She said when she looked over at the person making the remark, she saw a man in a black ski mask brandishing a gun toward her. The man, whom she described as having a local accent, was wearing a yellow and blue jacket and was driving a small, green car.

The woman ignored the masked man and walked away. She said the car drove away toward the five-way intersection.

Scull is continuing the investigation into the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Presque Isle Police Department at 764-4476.
