PRESQUE ISLE – The Northern Maine Community College Continuing Education Division will offer a one-day course for area residents interested in becoming a notary public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in the Continuing Education conference room on the second floor of the Edmunds building.
The class is designed to assist individuals in applying for a notary public commission in Maine. Topics of discussion will include history, powers and duties and qualifications of a notary public.
Admission cost is $49. An additional $50 fee, payable to the state, must be submitted along with the student’s exam to become a notary public. For information or to register, call Gayle Dickinson of the NMCC Continuing Education Division at 760-1155.
