John Bapst shuts out Hermon; Lee wins 12th

BAGNOR – Erin Keim scored in the first half off of an Ashley Gale assist for John Bapst and the Crusaders went on to record a 2-0 schoolgirl soccer win over the Hermon Hawks Friday.

Catherine Lammert added an unassisted second-half goal for the 7-6-1 Crusaders. Caroline Cassling and Sam Maquillan combined to stop five of 10 shots.

Megan Hebert made 19 saves on 27 shots for 1-12-1 Hermon.

JV: John Bapst 1-0

Lee Academy 5, Penquis 1

At Lee, Amanda Gifford had a pair of goals and assists as Lee Academy wound its regular season with a 12-2 record.

Noel Wilson, Dana Houghton and Aarika Ritchie had the other Lee goals. Ritchie scored from the penalty spot. Karin Bird made three saves on four shots.

Kristin Burch scored for 0-14 Penquis and Erika Lyford made 21 saves on 35 shots.

Penobscot Valley 2, Dexter 0

At Howland, Lyndsay Drost scored both goals to push Penobscot Valley to victory.

Abby Hallett assisted Drost’s second goal for the Howlers and Kelsey Lavertu blocked one of four shots.

Ashley Richardson made 11 saves on 25 shots for Dexter.

Bangor Christian 7, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Morgan Chasse scored four goals to lead Bangor Christian to victory.

Christine Pelletier scored twice for the 14-0 Patriots and Demelza Ramirez added a goal. Kelly Robinson and Katherine Bragg provided assists. Moriah Bach made five saves on eight shots.

Jade Bouchard scored on a Sam York assist for 2-11-1 Schenck. Lee Ann Toothaker and Toni Thompson combined to stop eight of 17 shots.

Narraguagus 3, DI-Stonington 2

At Harrington, Megan Nevells netted two goals to lead Narraguagus past Deer Isle-Stonington.

Kimberly Greene added a goal for the Knights and Samantha Baker had five saves on nine shots.

Megahan Robinson scored both goals for the Mariners. Anika Powers saved 14 of 28 shots.

Central 1, Piscataquis 0

At Corinth, Molly Chretien scored on a Randi McHugh assist with 30:29 left in the second half to push Central past Piscataquis of Guilford.

Jessica Daniel stopped nine of 10 shots for 3-11 Central.

Jill Martell made 13 saves on 16 shots for 7-3-4 Piscataquis.

Shead 3, Calvary Chapel 1

At Eastport, Patricia Candelmo scored three first half goals to lead Shead past Calvary Chapel of Orrington.

Whitney Remington and Whitney Vinson each had two assists for the 6-7-1 Tigerettes. Dorothy Pottle had seven saves on nine shots.

Faith Thomas scored unassisted for the 8-5-1 Sabers. Hannah Lacadie stopped 11 out of 17 shots.

Bucksport 3, Searsport 0

At Bucksport, Lindsey Gordon had two goals and Terren Hall a goal and assist as Bucksport shut out Searsport.

Katie Hurd had three saves on five shots for the 11-1-2 Golden Bucks.

Meagen Higgins and Amanda Cheany stopped 11 out of 23 shots for the 6-8 Vikings.

Ellsworth 7, MDI 0

At Bar Harbor, Maggie Harding scored two goals to lead Ellsworth to the win.

Kelsey Crawley scored a goal and assisted another for the 12-1-1 Eagles. Casey Wymann, Emily Lions, Zelli Werner, and Nicole Hamrick scored. Catie Cravens stopped four of nine shots.

Bridgette Pratt made 17 saves on 20 shots for 1-13 Mount Desert Island.

JV: Ellsworth 4-0

Bangor 1, Morse 0

At Fairfield, Casey Hartley scored off a pass from Erin MacDermott with 8:43 left in regulation to lift Bangor past Morse of Bath in the KVAC Championship.

Tawnya Godinez rejected five out of seven shots for the 14-0-1 Rams.

Jill Henrikson stopped 11 out of 17 shots for the 12-3 Shipbuilders.

Boys soccer

Bangor 2, Brunswick 1

At Fairfield, Troy Jellison’s corner kick went in off a Brunswick player for the decisive goal to lead Bangor past previously undefeated Brunswick in the KVAC Championship game.

Nick George scored on a Tony Martinez assist with 25:57 left in the second half to tie it a 1-1 for 13-1-1 Bangor. Aaron Taft stopped four of five shots.

P.J. Burnette scored off of a Kit Smith assist at 9:08 into the first half for 14-1 Brunswick. Tommy Williams made two saves on four shots.

Woodland 5, East Grand 0

At Woodland, Chad James, who only played the first half, scored four goals to lead Woodland to victory.

Jeremy Burke had a goal and two assists for the 8-4-1 Dragons. Scott Boomer assisted four goals and Cody Sappier added an assist. Todd Townsend blocked three of five shots.

Ricky Parks made 30 saves on 44 shots for 1-12-0 East Grand of Danforth.

MCI 2, Medomak Valley 1

At Waldoboro, Kyle Liimatainen and Brandon Glencross scored first-half goals to lift Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield over Medomak Valley.

Benson Bonsu made five saves on 14 shots for 6-5-3 MCI.

Jeremy Peterson scored a second-half goal for the 6-7-1 Panthers. Miles Felch turned away eight of 13 shots.

Schenck 3, Bangor Christian 0

At East Millinocket, Kerry Thompson scored twice to lead Schenck to victory.

Aaron Hutchins added a goal for the 8-5-1 Wolverines. Trevor Violette, Tyrel Davis, and Coty Powers provided assists. Lanny Thompson stopped 13 of 14 shots.

Sam McLeod made eight saves on 17 shots for 7-6-1 Bangor Christian.

Greenville 1, Rangeley 0

At Greenville, Corey Woodbury scored off of a Kyle Whitman assist with 24:48 left in the second half to give Greenville the win.

Tim Post blocked 12 of 31 shots for Greenville.

Kent Madeira made nine saves on 32 shots for Rangeley.

Penobscot Valley 4, Penquis 2

At Howland, Ryan Ware scored two goals and assisted another to lead Penobscot Valley to victory in its final regular-season game.

Cory Soucy and Charlie Gardner added goals for the 8-3-3 Howlers. Brian Harris and Chad Trapier combined to stop seven of 12 shots.

Jesse McLaughlin and Nathan Allen scored unassisted second-half goals for 0-14 Penquis of Milo. Brian Zwicker made seven saves on 20 shots.

DI-S 12, Jonesport-Beals 0

At Deer Isle, Bryant Ciomei scored five times to lead Deer Isle-Stonington to victory.

Max Becton had a hat trick with three goals for the 9-2-3 Mariners. Jon Eaton, Shane Eaton, and Parker McDonald each had a goal and an assist. Eben Powers scored and Rob Brown provided three assists. Brown and Jake Adams combined to block all eight shots.

Sid Look made 25 saves on 37 shots for 1-12-1 Jonesport-Beals.

Piscataquis 1, Central 0

At Guilford, Jarrod Robinson scored an unassisted goal with 20:05 left in regulation to give Piscataquis a win in its final regular-season game.

Ryan Martell stopped three of eight shots for the 9-4-1 Pirates.

Charles Haney blocked two of five shots for 6-4-4 Central of Corinth.

MDI 3, Hermon 0

At Bar Harbor, Ben Young scored all three goals to lead Mount Desert Island to victory.

Nat Paine and Abe Gladstone provided assists for the 8-5-1 Trojans. John Joseph blocked three of five shots.

Josh Blaine and Cory Johnson combined to stop seven of 13 shots for 2-11-1 Hermon.

Georges Valley 2, Wiscasset 0

At Wiscasset, Elisha Sprague scored two second-half goals to lead Georges Valley past Wiscasset.

Angel Ricalde provided both assists for the Buccaneers of Thomaston. Larry Platt stopped five of 10 shots.

Zach Hartman made five saves on 21 shots for Wiscasset.

Calais 1, Shead 1 (2OT)

At Eastport, Corey Johnston scored on a direct kick in the first half as Calais and Shead played to a double-overtime tie.

Scott Geel had nine saves on 12 shots for the 13-0-1 Blue Devils.

Aaron Sullivan notched a first-half tally for the 7-4-3 Tigers. Craig Hastings saved 10 of 14 shots.

Fort Kent 3, Houlton 0

At Fort Kent, Tom Caron scored on a penalty kick and recorded an assist as Fort Kent shut out Houlton.

Drew Blaer and Corey Voisine added a goal apiece for the 7-5-2 Warriors. Matt Harvey had six saves on 14 shots.

Ian Thompson stopped 14 out of 30 shots for 6-8 Houlton.

Van Buren 3, Washburn 1

At Van Buren, Ben Doucette netted two goals to lead Van Buren past Washburn.

Chris Caron had a goal and assist for the 12-0-2 Crusaders while Craig St. Pierre and Alex Martin added assists. Andrew Taylor had four saves on six shots.

Ciao Holland scored for 7-5-2 Washburn, with Troy Wilcox assisting. Steve Pesut had 14 saves on 20 shots.
