Downeast hospital flu-shot clinics listed

MACHIAS – Three communitywide flu shot clinics will be hosted by Downeast Community Hospital. Flu shots will be offered at no charge.

Donna Kelly, RN of the Infection Control Department at DECH, recommends that people over the age of 50, anyone at high risk or anyone living with or caring for another with high risk of having serious complications from the flu, should especially consider getting a shot.

The first clinic is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Downeast Community Hospital along with a health fair to educate people about the services the hospital offers. In addition, there will also be other health related community organizations and resources who will display information about their services.

The other two clinics are at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays, Nov. 9 and 16.

For more information, call Downeast Community Hospital at 255-3356.
