Families called for fun at Challenger Center

BANGOR – The Challenger Learning Center Of Maine will hold an evening of family fun from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Astronaut Dan Brandenstein, a veteran of four shuttle missions, will talk about his experiences at 4 p.m.

Space science-related activities are scheduled until 6 p.m. when adults and children at least 10 years of age will be able to fly a simulated space mission.

That will be followed by a Star Party at 9 p.m. when the Penobscot Valley Stargazers will provide telescopes participants can use to view the night sky.

Advance reservations are not necessary.

The Challenger Learning Center is located at 30 Venture Way, off Maine Avenue by the airport, in Bangor.

Admission for the “package deal” is $20 for adults, $15 for children.

Admission for the talk and activities only is $5 for an individual, $12 for a family.
