Cobb, Wilkins lift Calais past Woodland

WOODLAND – Kayla Cobb scored the winning goal off a cross from Honor Wilkins with 20 minutes remaining in the game to lift the Calais Blue Devils to a 1-0 high school girls soccer win over rival Woodland Wednesday.

Steph Perry made six saves on 14 shots for the 9-4-1 Blue Devils.

Cindy Bergin stopped eight of 10 shots for the 4-9-1 Dragons.

Winslow 4, Rockland 0

At Rockland, Meryl McLellan scored two goals to lead Winslow to the win.

Katie Caron added a goal and assist and Vicki Nadeau a goal for the 13-1 Black Raiders. Brynne Davis saved all six shots she faced.

Brittany Ross had four saves on 21 shots for 5-8-1 Rockland.

JV: Winslow 5-0

Foxcroft 3, MDI 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Leslie Martin scored a pair of goals to lift Foxcroft Academy past Mount Desert Island.

Angela Francis added a goal for the 5-6-3 Ponies. Sarah Whittemore had five saves on seven shots.

Emma Clement scored for the 1-12 Trojans and Bridgette Pratt stopped four out of 13 shots.

Searsport 1, Orono 0

At Orono, Tianna Faunce scored an unassisted goal in the first half to lift Searsport past Orono.

Amanda Chaney made nine saves on 14 shots for the Vikings.

Brittney Pinkham stopped eight out of 15 shots for the Red Riots.

Bucksport 2, John Bapst 0

At Bucksport, Keely Sullivan and Lindsey Gordon each scored an unassisted goal to lead Bucksport by John Bapst.

Katie Hurd stopped all five shots she faced for the 10-1-2 Golden Bucks.

Caroline Cassling made 14 saves on 21 shots for the 6-6-1 Crusaders of Bangor.

Boys soccer

Washington Acad. 3, Machias 0

At Machias, Sung Min Kim, Julian Washington and Milos Gautier each recorded a goal to lead Washington Academy of East Machias by Machias.

Josiah Jackson stopped six of seven shots for the 10-4 Raiders.

Michael Little made 10 saves on 15 shots for the 4-9 Bulldogs.

Medomak Val. 2, Mount View 1

At Waldoboro, Gardner Dyer scored the game-winning goal with 9:28 remaining in the game off a pass from Jared Simmons to lead Medomak Valley to victory.

Josh Chamberlin scored a goal assisted by Simmons. Myles Felch made two saves on seven shots for the 6-6-1 Panthers.

Matt Abbott netted the goal for Mount View with 1:51 left in the game. Sam Ray and Ross Caron combined to make nine saves on 16 shots for the 5-6-3 Mustangs of Thorndike.

MCI 1, Lincoln Acad. 1 (2OT)

At Pittsfield, Matt Ford scored with 9 minutes left in regulation for the Eagles of Newcastle to force overtime.

Troy Murray gave Maine Central Institute a 1-0 lead with a first-half tally.

Benson Ford had nine saves on 19 shots for the Huskies while Lincoln Academy’s Kevin Conant stopped eight out of 23.

DI-Stonington 6, Searsport 2

At Searsport, Bryant Ciomei scored three goals to lead Deer Isle-Stonington to victory.

Collin Ciomei netted two goals while Park McDonell added one. Rob Brown made one save on three shots for the Mariners.

Kyle Ritchie and Dan Peach each scored a goal for Searsport. Peach made eight saves on 16 shots for the Vikings.

Narraguagus 6, Jonesport-Beals 1

At Jonesport, Narraguagus scored five goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and earn the victory over Jonesport-Beals.

Gastaug Ortiz, Nate Best, Steven Strout, Kris Green, Joe Ortiz and Gavin Endre each scored a goal. Brandon Meserve made 11 saves on 22 shots for the 2-10-2 Knights of Harrington.

Josh Faulkingham netted the first half goal for Jonesport-Beals. Sid Look and Jeremy Bassett combined to make 21 saves on 34 shots for the 1-11-1 Royals.

Dexter 3, PVHS 0

At Dexter, Dan Beatham scored what proved to be the game-winner and assisted on another as Dexter concluded its regular season with a 9-2-3 record. Penobscot Valley of Howland fell to 7-3-3.

Devon Grant and Ethan Woodman had the other goals and David Haskell picked up an assist. Chris Eastman made eight saves on 19 shots.

Brian Harris made 12 stops on 25 shots for the Howlers.
