Ben Bishop

University of Maine men’s ice hockey goalie Ben Bishop has been named the Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week by Hockey East. Bishop stopped 29 of 30 shots faced on Friday night in the Black Bears’ 3-1 win over Minnesota.

Brittany Veazie

Brittany Veazie, a junior at Springfield College, has been named New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week in field hockey. Veaze totaled three goals and two assists for eight points in two wins for the Pride.

Kim Alexander

Bates senior forward Kim Alexander has been named the NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Alexander scored the game-tying and game-winning goals as Bates defeated previously unbeaten Williams on Saturday. Alexander leads the team with eight goals and 18 points.

Dwayne Smith

UM-Fort Kent freshman Dwayne Smith was named Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. He scored two goals in a win over UM-Machias.

Mike Sinclair

UM-Fort Kent sophomore Mike Sinclair earned Sunrise Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors. He helped anchor the defense in a 3-1 win over UM-Machias.

Neile Lozier

Neile Lozier of UM-Fort Kent was named Sunrise Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. She led a strong Bengal defense in a shutout win of UM-Machias.

Allie Hill

University of Southern Maine goalie Allie Hill was named Little East Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. She posted her first career shutout in a 1-0 win over St. Joseph’s.
