3 sheriff’s candidates to speak in Machias

MACHIAS – Eggs and Issues, the Machias Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly presentation of local issues, presents a chance to talk on Thursday, Oct. 12, with the three candidates for the Washington County sheriff’s position.

The breakfast, 7:30 a.m. at Helen’s Restaurant, is open to the public. The cost is $7 for members of the Chamber, $8 for nonmembers.

The three candidates are Democrat George Bunker of Baileyville, Republican Rodney Merritt of East Machias and independent Donnie Smith of Lubec. Each will summarize his campaign and answer questions.
