Letter

Peace for St. Albans

I read the letter from Gary Jordan (“By eminent domain,” BDN, Sept. 15), then I went to check out the BDN Web site. It is very nice. I then went to the blog page and read what people had to say and decided to write a blog of my own.

I guess whomever is the Webmaster for the site must not have liked what I said because it’s been almost three weeks and my blog never made it.

I was a selectman in town when all of this first started, and later became chairman of the board of selectmen. When this started it was presented to us as Jordan was concerned that his land value was going to go down because of the storage business that was built near his property. That was the beginning of what has ended up tearing the town apart.

St. Albans is a nice little town, it doesn’t need to be going through all of this mess. I wish the Web site would have said, “Positive or favorable comments only.”

Those who remember, remember that. Jordan didn’t even own the land that the right of way was on, he bought it after he started all his legal issues.

Things need fixing in town government and Town Manager Larry Post should retire as he tends to favor those who do things his way. Please let the town of St. Albans return to the peaceful place it once was. It deserves better than what is going on now. So please, Dennis Smith, (“A Supreme problem, BDN letter, Sept. 13), and Gary Jordan, let personal issues drop and let the town move on.

Jim Bullock

Former selectman

of St. Albans
