MILBRIDGE – Narraguagus River in Milbridge will be dredged under the terms of a $1,060,190 contract issued recently by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.
The dredging, which will be done by Prock Marine Co. of Rockland, will begin on or about Nov. 1 and take three to five months to complete.
The federal project serves the commercial fishing and lobstering fleet, aquaculture operations, a fish-packing facility, and a small recreational fleet.
Disposal of the estimated 45,060 cubic yards of dredged material will be in Narraguagus Bay, north of Douglas Islands, approximately six miles to the south.
