MACHIAS – The Washington County Drug Action Team will hold an all-day workshop on transitional housing options for Washington County on Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Carter Banquet Hall.
The same workshop will take place Saturday, Oct. 14, in Eastport at the Washington County Community College’s boat school.
Both sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The theme is “Open Mike, Open Minds and Open to Possibilities.”
The keynote speaker is Kathleen Miller, executive director of the Maine Lighthouse Corp., a nonprofit organization on Mount Desert Island that has been developing comprehensive addition treatment services in Maine.
She will talk on the present scope of transitional housing in Maine, and different models, philosophies, approaches and availability.
Barbara Drisko, chairman of the drug action team, will coordinate the meeting.
