American media views

Regarding two articles that ran in the Aug. 26-27 edition of the Bangor Daily News.

First, an Islamic leader states: “…The world had better learn who we are.” American citizens will only be able to learn who “they” are when we learn the history and manipulation of our own leaders. This will be very difficult when the American media only allow us to view the world from a manufactured state of fear and lack of information from a world that for some reason hates us.

Second, the announcement that this month CNN will release a graphic account of the Sept. 11 attacks is a perfect example of the media using their power to overcome the negative reaction of Americans to U.S. foreign policy. And if they succeed, look for continued news and pundit analysis of the threat to our claimed wonderful lifestyle.
