Mayhem in Charlotte

How sickening to read about the vicious murders and maulings of sheep in Charlotte. Beautiful, gentle animals were brutally attacked by roaming aggressive dogs. How does [animal control officer] Larry Colarusso sleep at night knowing he had received “numerous complaints” previously? Isn’t it nice that he “hopes” the Fendersons will euthanize their monsters? These are the same people who didn’t bother to protect others at all.

My heart goes out to the Farrar family and herd. We have spent time on the phone after being threatened by aggressive dogs on our property. Game department officials assured us that we have every right to shoot dogs on the spot if they threaten our animals or us, but we can’t watch every minute.

One problem is bully mentality dog owners who only care about their own rights and don’t even seem to get it that the rest of us would like a peaceful existence. The other real problem is the stupidity of allowing a tragedy to unfold before irresponsible dog owners face any real consequences.
