Ellsworth woman, 45, charged in credit fraud

ELLSWORTH – A 45-year-old local woman has been issued a summons for allegedly running a $6,500 bill on credit cards she obtained fraudulently.

Annette Lindsey was charged with theft, forgery and misuse of identification. She is scheduled to appear in District Court on Jan. 3.

Police said Lindsey obtained credit cards in a family member’s name and used them to buy items from area businesses and make cash withdrawals from local banks. It is the second time in three months that such charges have been filed against her.

In September, she was accused of using a relative’s credit card to obtain additional cards in that person’s name and running up a $2,000 tab. She is scheduled to appear in court on the earlier charges Dec. 6.
