Blue Hill to address effects of tax relief bill

BLUE HILL – A discussion of the impacts of the state property tax relief bill signed into law last month will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at the Blue Hill Town Hall.

Arranged by Rep. Jim Schatz, the meeting will feature a presentation from Geoffrey Herman, director of State Relations for the Maine Municipal Association. The meeting will serve as an opportunity for town officials and residents to ask questions about how the new property tax relief law will affect their communities.

Although it is designed primarily for municipal and school officials from Schatz’s House District 37 – Blue Hill, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick and Surry – the meeting is open to the public.
