DOT urges caution during Route 6 work

LINCOLN – The Maine Department of Transportation is urging drivers to use additional care on Route 6 in Lincoln and Springville from late May or early June until mid-August.

Road work will occur for two different projects. In Lincoln, the project area will begin at the Lincoln-Lee town line and extend west for 3.8 miles, ending about four miles east of Route 2. Work on that project includes reclaiming the existing pavement, drainage improvements and paving.

In Springfield, work will begin at the Lee-Springfield town line and extend east for 11/4 miles. Work in this area will include repaving the existing roadway.
