Lynx win on Hanscom’s 2-out single in 8th

MILLINOCKET – Steve Whitney’s two-out single in the seventh tied it and Dylan Hanscom’s two-out base hit in the eighth won it for the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx of Lincoln in a 7-6 baseball win over Stearns Thursday.

Hanscom had two singles and two RBIs, Dustin Hanscom doubled and singled and Brian Berry had two singles for MA.

Ryan Bouchard belted a double and two singles for Stearns, Matt Barnett had a solo homer, Craig Jandreau singled twice and knocked in a pair, George Surette singled twice.

At Orono, Pete Wentworth drove in two runs with four singles and Chris Maguire pitched a 3-hitter for the Bucks.

Maguire also had three singles while Nye Gifford had two doubles, a single, and two RBIs. Matt Allison had a double, a single and two RBIs.

Dusty Thomas doubled for the Red Riots while Dylan Huckestein had an RBI single.

At Dexter, Kyle Stone drove in three runs on two doubles and a single as the Tigers rolled over the Patriots.

Brandon Woodman and Chris Rabideau of Dexter each had two RBIs. Woodman had a single and a double while Rabideau singled twice. Mike Martin had two singles and an RBI.

Aaron Wilson hit a two-run single for Bangor Christian. Steve Blake added an RBI double, Justin Phinney had a double and a single, and Tory Dearborn singled twice.

Greenville, Forest Hills split

At Greenville, Forest Hills won the first game 10-0 and Greenville rebounded with a 13-3 win in the second.

In the first game, Roger Paradise struck out seven and walked none while pitching a one-hitter for Forest Hills. He also had two singles and three RBIs. Dustin Allen added a two-run triple.

Dan Gaucher’s single in the second inning was Greenville’s only hit.

In the second game, Corey Woodbury notched a complete-game win and had an RBI double for the Lakers. Eric Driscoll had two singles and two RBIs.

Paradise paced Forest Hills with two singles.

At Corinth, George Keefe hit a three-run homer in the sixth and singled to help lead the John Bapst Crusaders.

Alex Means had a double, two singles and two RBIs for Bapst. Chris Leavitt had two RBIs on a triple and a single. Rick Hathaway had a double, single and two RBIs.

Colby Brown had a double, single and three RBIs for the Red Devils. Mike Julian had two singles and Brian Parker hit a two-run doubled.

Kevin Kotredes had two doubles and two RBIs for the Witches, Ben Caldwell singled twice and knocked in a run and Matt Grimes and J.T. Davis contributed RBI doubles. Ryan Goodin also doubled.

Brad Perry singled twice for Old Town.

Shannon Pietras had two singles and an RBI while Arikka Knights singled twice for Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln.

At Bangor, Kelly White pitched a four-hitter, struck out 10, and walked two to pace the Rams.

Jessica Tweedie had three singles, three stolen bases, and two runs for Bangor. Steph Chase had three singles and an RBI, Jamie Kowalski had a two-run single, and Erin Gray had an RBI single.

Michelle Barden had a single and then three consecutive steals in the sixth for Nokomis of Newport.

At Greenville, Darcie Larsen pitched a two-hitter in the opener and a three-hitter in the nightcap to lead Greenville by Forest Hills of Jackman. She struck out six with no walks in the first game before striking out three and walking one in the five-inning second game.

In the nightcap, Leslie Harris belted a pair of solo homers and a double, Darcie Larsen homered, singled and drove in two runs, and Darla Larsen doubled twice with an RBI.

Naomi Stevens had an RBI single for Forest Hills.

In the opener, Elisa Gary doubled and singled and had an RBI and Darla Larsen rapped a solo homer.

Casey Gilbert tripled for Forest Hills.

At Dexter, Sarah Carnes pitched a one-hitter while striking out nine and walking seven in Dexter’s victory.

Brittany Veazie had three singles and two RBIs while Cindy Koscielny had two singles and three RBIs to pace the Tigers. Sara Wyman added a triple, single and three RBIs.

Megan Mishou hit an RBI single for the Patriots.

Lindsay Mitchell tripled and singled and had an RBI, Jenny Rollins hit a solo homer, Renee Trafton doubled and singled and Traci Underhill singled twice for the winners.

Jill Mitchell singled twice, tripled, and had two RBIs for John Bapst. Kim Meagher had a double and two singles. Rachel Stearns had two singles and an RBI.

Myra Shannon tripled, doubled and added an RBI. Amy Rider and Lisa Johnson each singled.
