OLD TOWN – The next volunteer committee meeting for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the Dead River Co., South Main Street, in Brewer.

The American Cancer Society is seeking walkers, cancer survivors, community leaders, team captains and anyone interested in helping out with the event, which is a fund-raiser where teams walk around a track relay-style overnight.

Teams will gather at Old Town High School on May 14 and 15 for the relay. There will be a cancer survivor recognition ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, May 14, and a candle-lighting ceremony at 10 p.m.

Cancer survivors who want to register for the recognition ceremony or those who want to make a contribution for the candle-lighting ceremony, call the American Cancer Society at 989-0332.
